I welcome you to the
Strong City School
Fund. The Fund supports
Catholic elementary schools in Kansas City’s urban core. I wish I
could introduce you to each of the parents of these students who
have sought stability and hope for their children's lives through
faith and education. Every family sending children to one of the
Strong City Schools manages to scrape together scarce dollars to
provide top-quality education and spiritual formation.
I welcome you to our Past and to Promises
kept on our behalf. Our parents and forbearers built and
maintained these and all other Catholic schools to be bastions and
strongholds of Catholic faith and a
promise for the future. These schools are testimony
to our legacy of
sustaining such strongholds through the years, through economies,
through generations and through our cultural richness.
I welcome you to the Challenge. Since 1989,
concerned community members have filled many of those desks by providing needs based assistance
to families who continue to sacrifice. The new Strong City
School Fund will continue this important mission.
Might you assist in seeing that these
neighborhoods remain strong, and when these children arrive at
school, an arm is protectively put around their shoulders and they
are beckoned, "Come and be safe and let us teach you the fear and
awe of the Lord.”
