V. CurriculumThe school curriculum includes all concepts, skills, and values that are planned, guided, and sponsored by the school. The students' needs, abilities, and interests are taken into consideration when the curriculum is developed. The curriculum reflects the mission statement and philosophy of the school and develops the student's responsibility and care for self, family, community, and the world. Improvement Standards5.1 The curriculum relates to the life experiences and environments of the students and reflects an awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity found in the local community, nation, and the world. 5.2 The board of education, staff, families, students, and the community have appropriate involvement with the curriculum. 5.3 The school regularly evaluates and revises the curriculum. 5.4 A comprehensive approach to student assessment is in place. 5.5 A systematic standardized testing program is utilized in diagnosis and prescription of student learning as well as evaluation and revision of the curriculum. |
